Peace River closures begin June 2020
Effective June 15, 2020 there will be permanent closures on the Peace River to protect boaters and dam operations throughout construction. To move boaters around the construction area, we have set up a seasonal portage program.

There were 3,029 total workers on the Site C project in April 2020. Of the total workers, 2,133 were from B.C., or 70%. 513 workers on site were from the Peace River Regional District. That's 22% of the construction and non-construction contractor workforce.

To deter waterfowl from nesting in Highway 29 construction areas, bird deterrents are being installed at two locations on the Peace River near Lynx Creek.
