The latest employment statistics show that there were 4,645 total workers on the Site C project in July 2020. Of the total workers, 3,398 were from British Columbia, or 73%. There were 863 workers on site from the Peace River Regional District — that's 22% of the construction and non-construction contractor's workforce.

The May workforce numbers reflect BC Hydro’s March 18 decision to scale back construction activites on the Site C dam site, as well as the May 14 announcement to safely and gradually begin increasing construction activities at the dam site.

Effective June 15, 2020 there will be permanent closures on the Peace River to protect boaters and dam operations throughout construction. To move boaters around the construction area, we have set up a seasonal portage program.
