Site C project's Peace River construction bridge completed on time and on budget

BC Hydro and its contractor have met an early construction milestone on the Site C project with the completion of the temporary Peace River construction bridge. The bridge is critical for the mobilization of the main civil works contractor.

Site C and agriculture

More than 99 per cent of Class 1 to 5 agricultural lands in the Peace Agricultural Region will not be affected by Site C. And a $20 million agriculture compensation fund will benefit agriculture production in the region.

BC Hydro and its contractors have completed the latest round of Site C job fairs and business networking sessions in northern B.C.

Aboriginal Consultation and Engagement

BC Hydro is committed to meeting its obligation to consult and accommodate Aboriginal groups, where appropriate. Consultation and engagement with Aboriginal groups about Site C began in 2007 and is continuing through the construction period.
