During project planning, BC Hydro identified areas that have the potential for erosion and sedimentation. That’s why BC Hydro's Construction Environmental Management Plan provides specific actions to be taken to prevent the erosion of soils and the transport of sediment. These measures are implemented prior to the start of work and during the work.

When dealing with invasive plant species, prevention, early detection and eradication is the most effective means of management. For Site C, BC Hydro has developed plans for invasive plant control on construction work sites and will coordinate control and monitoring activities with contractors.

The latest employment statistics show that there were 2,124 total workers on the Site C project in January 2017. Of the total workers, 81% were from British Columbia.
