Over the next couple of weeks, BC Hydro will be conducting archaeological field studies near the Hudson’s Hope shoreline, as well as upgrading the brake check on Canyon Drive.
Field studies near the Hudson’s Hope berm
Small teams will be conducting archaeological field studies using shovels and trucks. The studies are being done in preparation for construction of the shoreline protection berm, which will start this fall.
Work will occur during the week of May 25, 2020.
Hours of work will be 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, 7 days a week.

Upgrades to Canyon Drive brake check
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure will be upgrading the brake check at Canyon Drive. The upgrades are needed to improve road safety due to an increase in trucks hauling from Portage Mountain Quarry.
Work began on May 25, 2020 and will last about two weeks.
Hours of work are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., 7 days a week.
Drivers are asked to slow down in the construction area and prepare for lane closures.
