FORT ST. JOHN: BC Hydro’s Generate Opportunities (GO) Fund is providing funding to three new projects in the Peace Region, made possible through the construction of the Site C project.
With these three new projects, this brings the number of projects funded to date to one hundred. BC Hydro is also adding $100,000 to the GO Fund, bringing the total contribution to $1 million, up from $900,000.
The latest recipients are:
- Fort St. John & District Palliative Care Society: $7,500 to support making hospital beds available to palliative people with life threatening or altering illness.
- Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society: $10,000 to help provide art therapy to families who have experienced violence.
- Child Development Centre Society of Fort St. John and District: $10,000 to support services and supports for children with autism and their parents and caregivers.
“BC Hydro is proud to support communities in the Peace region through the GO Fund,” said Bob Gammer, Community Relations Manager for the Site C project. “The additional $100,000 we are adding to the GO Fund will provide more opportunities for non-profit organizations in the region to apply for funding.”
The GO Fund was established in 2016 and is administered by the Northern Development Initiative Trust.
