BC Hydro’s GO Fund supports women and inclusion in the Peace Region
FORT ST. JOHN: BC Hydro is contributing nearly $23,000 to support three Peace Region non-profit groups through the Site C project's Generate Opportunities (GO) Fund.
The latest recipients are:
- North Peace Gymnastics Association: $5,350 to support inclusive, adapted gymnastics programs for children with diverse abilities.
- Wellness Truth and Family Counselling and Advocacy Foundation: $10,000 to support women recovering from experiences of domestic violence and other traumatic events.
- Chetwynd Public Library Association: $7,500 to help provide nutritious snack and meals for vulnerable populations across all its library programs.
To date, 97 projects have received $850,081 from the GO Fund, which was established in September 2016 to support non-profit organizations in the north and south Peace Region throughout construction of Site C.
The GO Fund is administered by Northern Development Initiative Trust. Applications for funding are accepted on an ongoing basis and funds are distributed quarterly.
